In preparation for the high-profile visit, security measures in Agra were intensified, with personnel stationed along major routes and near tourist attractions.
Vance, who arrived in New Delhi on Monday with a senior delegation, began his tour by visiting the Akshardham Temple. He later engaged in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before heading to Jaipur that night.
In Jaipur, the Vice President and his family toured the historic Amer Fort, traveling in an open jeep from Hathi Stand to admire the fort's outer walls, Mavtha Sarovar, and Kesar Kyari Bagh, while enjoying the cultural richness of the Pink City. Their visit included lively cultural performances and traditional Rajasthani hospitality.
During an address at the Rajasthan International Centre, Vance praised Prime Minister Modi's leadership, remarking, "I told Prime Minister Modi last night—he has approval ratings that would make me jealous."
He described Modi as a "very tough negotiator" who vigorously advocates for India's commercial interests.
Discussing the India-US relationship, Vance emphasized, "The US and India will advance together through mutual cooperation across various sectors."
He reiterated the US's commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and highlighted the strategic significance of the India-US partnership, stating, "The 21st century will be shaped by the strength of this relationship."
Vance outlined three essential pillars that will guide the growing collaboration between the two nations: defense, infrastructure development, and technological innovation.
He also mentioned President Trump's global economic vision, stating, "President Trump aims to rebalance global trade so that the US, alongside allies like India, can create a better future."
The Vice President's visit signifies a pivotal moment in bilateral relations, with both nations looking to deepen cooperation in areas such as defense, infrastructure, technology, and innovation.
